SOKOTO STATE GOVT DISBURSES ₦1.3 BILLION IN FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO VULNERABLE RAMADAN

The Sokoto State Government has disbursed ₦1.355 billion in financial assistance to support vulnerable populations during the Ramadan.

The initiative which was flagged off by Governor Ahmed Aliyu, aims to provide relief to 244 Ramadan feeding centers across the state 23 local government areas of the state as well as 27 centers for physically challenged persons.

Each of the 244 Ramadan feeding centers will receive ₦5 million, while the 27 centers for the physically challenged will also receive ₦5 million to be used to provide necessary food stuff that would enable beneficiaries to break their fast with dignity.

Governor Aliyu emphasized that this gesture is part of the state government’s efforts to support those in need during Ramadan, demonstrating his administration’s commitment to social welfare and development.

The State Commissioner of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Ibrahim Adare noted that the initiative is an extension of the state government’s efforts to alleviate the suffering of citizens during the Ramadan period.

The Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, commended Governor Aliyu’s administration for its efforts in supporting vulnerable populations during Ramadan, praising the governor’s commitment to social welfare and development.
