Stock Market: Investors gain 88.15 billion naira
Investors gained Eighty-Eight Point One-Five Billion Naira on Friday, with the All Share Index closing blue.
The equity capitalization of the market rose from Twenty Point Four-Seven Trillion naira traded on Thursday to twenty point five-six trillion traded on Friday. This was an Eighty-Eight Point One-Five Billion Naira gain.
The All Share Index therefore closed at Thirty-Nine Thousand, Three Hundred Point Two –Four Point, an upward Shift from Thirty-Nine Thousand, One Hundred and Thirty-One Point Eight point at close on the previous trading day.
Two Hundred and Seventy-Eight Point Seven Million shares exchanged hands at the floor on Friday, in over Three Thousand deals.
The value of shares traded was Two Point Nine Billion Naira against Two Point Six-Billion-Naira worth of shares traded on Thursday.
On activity chat, GUARANTY TRUST BANK traded the highest worth of shares, recording One Point Three Billion Naira shares.
ACCESS BANK was the next, trading Three Hundred and Fifty-One Point Seven –Five-Million-Naira worth of shares.
ACCESS BANK shares were also the most traded on the floor, transacting over Four Hundred and Sixty-Seven equities.
At the sectorial front, NASCON ALLIED INDUSTRIES led the consumer goods sector, with Twenty Point Three Million shares traded.
Service sector was led by NIGERIA AVIATION HANDLING COMPANY which traded over Six Hundred and Seventeen Thousand shares.
GUARANTY TRUST BANK led the financial sector, trading Four Hundred and Twenty-Six Point Six-Six Million shares.
STANBIC IBTC was the top gainer with Eight Point Seven Percent rise on its share price. It rose from Forty-Six Naira traded on Thursday to Fifty Naira on Friday.
UNION DICON was the top loser, with LINK ASSURANCE and CORNERSTONE INSURANCE following.
