As a way of ending the terrorism ravaging the Sahel region of Africa, the African Union is preparing to deploy 3,000 troops to the countries in the region, an official has said.

Countries identified are Mali, Chad, Mauritania, Niger, Burkina Faso, among others.

Although details of the African Union plans are still sketchy, sceptics are saying that Nigeria may not be included in the list of the countries that will benefit in this first tranche of soldiers.
