THOSE CALLING AN END TO ZONING ARE ENEMIES OF NIGERIA – POLITICAL PRESSURE GROUP
A-Pro South East group calling for a president of South East Extraction come 2023, Njem Igbo Initiative says those calling for an end to zoning system which has favoured other ethnic groups except the south-east are enemies of Nigeria
According to the group, it will only be fair for all major ethnic groups in Nigeria to get a chance to produce a president before any consensus agreement to end the zoning arrangement.
The group made this known at a press conference In Abuja on Wednesday.
The President and Convener of the political pressure group, Chidozie Okoli while briefing journalists, said the emergence of an Igbo President will bring an end to agitations and protests in the South East region.
He said that to deny an Igbo man a chance because of the experience of the Civil War will be to overlook the constitutions and sacrifices of the Igbo in building an economically viable and unified Nigeria.
Okoli advised people of the South-East not to relax in their comfort zone and expect to be given power rather they must unite and build bridges across political and regional divides.
The President of the Group also congratulated politicians from the South East that have shown interest in running for the office of the President in 2023.
