Tinubu meets ex-CBN gov, Sanusi and Abdulsalami at State House
The 14th Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi is meeting President Bola Tinubu at the State House, Abuja.
Sanusi, a former Central Bank Governor, arrived at the Villa a few minutes before 05:00 pm, our correspondent observed.
His visit comes barely one week after the President suspended the immediate past Governor of Nigeria’s apex bank, Godwin Emefiele.
Although the agenda of their engagement is not yet public, both men are meeting for the first time since Tinubu assumed the presidency on May 29.
ABDULSALAMI
The former military head of state Abdulsalami Abubakar, on Thursday visited President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the presidential villa, Abuja.
In a video of Abdulsalami’s arrival shared by the Nigerian Television Authority, NTA, the president was on hand to receive him as he alighted from his vehicle.
Both leaders moved to the president’s office for a meeting after exchanging pleasantries.
The purpose of the meeting is not known as of the time of filing this report.
Recall that President Tinubu on Tuesday met with former President Goodluck Jonathan at the presidential villa.
Speaking after the meeting, Jonathan said he briefed the president on developments within the West African sub-region.
Abdulsalami is the second former leader of the country Tinubu would be having a sit-down with since he became president.
