Troops foil ISWAP attack on repentant Boko Haram families in Borno
The Nigerian military thwarted an attempt by the Islamist State’s West Africa Province (ISWAP) to attack a camp of repentant Boko Haram members in Borno.
Troops pushed back insurgents as they moved towards their targeted location in Damboa Local Government Area.
The fighters stormed Damboa town in a convoy of gun trucks Saturday evening, sources told PRNigeria.
The intelligence disclosed that forces were deployed to face the ISWAP marauders after a distress call.
“Though the terrorists were repelled in a brutal gunfire, I cannot give the number of casualties they could have suffered”, he added.
