A truck carrying sachet water lost control and overturned on the Trans Ekulu section of the Enugu-Onitsha Expressway, spilling its contents across the road. The accident, which occurred on the newly constructed portion of the expressway, is believed to have been caused by over-speeding.

Eyewitnesses report that the driver and a passenger sustained varying degrees of injuries, but no fatalities were recorded. The newly completed section of the road was recently opened by the federal government to ease traffic congestion, while the other part remains closed for ongoing repairs.

Motorists have raised concerns about poor lighting conditions on the expressway, warning that the lack of visibility at night could lead to further accidents. They are calling on authorities to urgently install streetlights and implement safety measures to prevent similar incidents.
