Umuahia town still looking like glorified village – Otti
The city of Umuahia, Abia State capital, is far behind in aesthetics to be called a State capital.
Governor Alex Otti made this observation at Ohuhu, Umuahia North LGA of the State during the thanksgiving service of Hon Obi Aguocha, new member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia federal constituency.
Otti regretted that the present outlook of Umuahia town does not correspond with its status as a state capital.
He promised that his administration would soon begin the remodeling of Umuahia.
He also pleaded with civil servants in the State to be patient with his administration as salaries and pensions would be paid by the end of June.
Otti, who blamed the insertion of fictitious figures for the delay in payment of salaries and pensions, assured workers and retirees that they would get their payments by month’s end.
He further said that the new cabinet of the State would be unveiled by month’s end.
You obviously have a mission and vision for the State. So glad that residents are already commending your war on over-filled refuse bins and smelling environment that Aba and Umuahia have been identified with. Surprisingly, you never gloated over that achievement.
Again, information is power and I believe that your civil servants and pensioneers will be glad with your not keeping them in the dark.
A New Nigeria is indeed possible.
