Unknown Gunmen Kill Two In Enugu
Unknown gunmen shot and killed two persons at Aji Community, Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area (LGA) of Enugu State.
It was gathered that the gunmen boarded a lorry in disguise and shortly, opened fire on unsuspecting rural dwellers at the popular Eke Ozzi market, in the council area.
The gunmen also reportedly destroyed vehicles while operating within the vicinity.
Apart from the two deceased, others sustained various degrees of injuries and were taken to nearby hospitals.
When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Enugu State Police Command, Daniel Ndukwe, could not respond to inquiries as of the time of publishing this report.
Enugu, like other states in Nigeria’s South-east, has witnessed an increase in attacks recently.
The attacks, mostly targeted at security officials and government facilities, have been attributed to the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
