A M.AN tipper truck crashed into several vehicles on Wednesday in Abuja after losing brake at about 5pm.

Authorities say the vehicle lost brake while descending the Mpape hills and pushed several cars from the road before crashing into a Nissan Primera waiting to pick up passengers at the Mpape junction in Abuja.

A V.I.O official at the accident scene confirmed the driver of the Primera dead on the spot while the female passenger in the taxi and the man who drove the tipper broke their bones and have been rushed to the hospital.

Eyewitnesses say the driver drove carelessly and lost control when the brake failed. Thereby jumping the culvert dividing the service lane and entered the Asokoro-Maitama expressway.

Traffic build-up extended to A.Y.A as most motorists and passengers could not get to their destinations on time.
