APC Leaders Agree On Consensus Candidates, To Produce Unity List – Lawan

Senate President Ahmed Lawan has said the All Progressives Congress (APC) has agreed on producing consensus candidates and is expected to put out a unity list by Friday ahead of the party’s national convention on Saturday.

Lawan stated this after the National Assembly caucus leaders met with President Muhammadu Buhari at the State House on Thursday.

Speaking further, Senator Lawan acknowledged that the country indeed has challenges but that the APC and the 9th Assembly have done well, particularly with the passage of old and salient bills, cooperation with the opposition members in the PDP and APGA to ensure that issues of national interest remain the prime goal. #

Peter Obi Declares To Run For President In 2023

Former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi on Thursday declared his intention to run for President in 2023.

He made the declaration in Awka at a gathering of traditional rulers in Anambra State. Obi was running mate to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar in the 2019 presidential election.

When asked why he was attending the declaration event of a potential rival, Obi said Atiku Abubakar is my leader and that politics is not a war. ##

Second Niger Bridge Now 91% Complete, Says FG

The Federal Government has said the Second Niger Bridge linking Anambra and Delta states, scheduled for completion in February 2022, is now 91 per cent completed.

The Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, made this known on Thursday during the Special Weekly ministerial briefing at the State House in Abuja.

According to him, the 206-billion-naira project has directly employed 1,486 people, while 8,110 indirect jobs have equally been created.

He noted that the Lagos Ibadan Express Way and Second Niger Bridge will be completed by the end of the year while the main Carriageway of Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano expressway is scheduled for completion by the second quarter of 2023. ##

NNPC, ADITOP and IPMAN Move to Solve Current Fuel Crises

In other to solve the current fuel challenges going on in Nigeria, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Association of Distributors and Transporters of Petroleum Products (ADITOP) and the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, (IPMAN) have taken collective positions to solve the current fuel challenge.

The organizations agreed that to solve the fuel issue, there is a cogent need to collaborate with relevant government agencies to provide better services to Nigerians.

At the Extraordinary general meeting of Aditop held in Abuja on Thursday, various stakeholders in the oil and gas sector noted that the industry was faced with a lot of challenges and hence the need to address them. ##
