2023: Fayemi Denies Betraying Tinubu, says ‘Presidency Not an Inheritance’

A presidential aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Kayode Fayemi, on Wednesday denied betraying Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, saying the office of the President is not an inheritance.

Fayemi, the Chairman of the Nigerian Governors Forum (NGF), who spoke in Abuja during an interview with newsmen said his ambition is to make a difference in the lives of Nigerians.

This is coming as those in Tinubu Camp has condemned Kayode for declaring his ambition when Tinubu, a man he has benefited from had also declared.#

Abia Declares Public Holiday for Voter Registration as INEC continues CVR

The Abia State Government has declared Thursday a public holiday to enable residents to participate in the ongoing voter’s registration exercise in the state and to increase public participation in the voter’s registration.

According to the state government, the one-day holiday is to enable those who are yet to take part in the exercise to do the needful in fulfilment of their civic rights and responsibilities.

INEC Chairman, Mahmood Yakubu, said the country is now in the fourth quarter of the ongoing continuous voter registration (CVR) which was restarted n June 28 after it was earlier suspended for the 2019 general election. #

NANS call for the resignation of Chris Ngige and Emeka Nwajiuba

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has called for the immediate resignation of the Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige and the Minister of State for Education, Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba.

NANS decried the level at which individuals who have been perceived to have performed poorly in office, come out to seek the position of the highest seat of government without any proven track record.

The Association said the lingering ASUU strike among many other issues confronting the ministries that both Chris Ngige and Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba are heading speaks for itself. #

ASUU Strike: University Students Protest for Second Day In Benin-City

University students took to the streets for the second straight day on Thursday in protest against the strike embarked by the Academic Staff Union of Universities.

Tagging themselves ‘The University of Streets’, the protesters walked along the Ugbowo-Lagos expressway in Benin City.

Other students and concerned Nigerians were scheduled to join the students in protest at Ring Road, Benin city.

The protesting students while appealing to the relevant authorities to resolve the lingering strike, said staying at home and watching their academic pursuits halted was worrying and depressing. #
