Train Attack: Evacuation Of Trapped Passengers Concluded – Kaduna Govt

The evacuation of passengers on the trapped Kaduna-bound train from Abuja has been concluded by security forces, officials of Kaduna State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), and the Nigerian Red Cross.

This was made known by the Commissioner, Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Kaduna State, Samuel Aruwan.

Aruwan in a statement on Tuesday said that the passengers who sustained injuries, and other fatalities, have been moved to hospitals.

The passengers were evacuated from different hard-to-reach areas in forests and rocky locations in Audujongom, off the Kaduna-Abuja Road. #

Abuja-Kaduna Train Operations Suspended After Attack

Meanwhile, the Nigerian Railway Corporation has suspended operations along the Abuja-Kaduna route following the terrorist attack on a train plying the axis on Monday.

In its official Twitter handle, on Tuesday, the NRC confirmed the suspension of operations. #

Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike on Monday said he wants to become President of Nigeria in 2023 in order to help solve the country’s problems.

Wike said he has the ability to solve Nigeria’s insecurity problems, referencing his war against oil bunkering in Rivers State.

He frowned at the inability and weakness of the All Progressives Congress to stamp out corruption and accused the party of deceiving Nigerians.

2023: Go For True Reconciliation, S’West Youths Tell PDP NWC

The National Youth Movement (NYM) of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in South West has called on Senator Iyorchia Ayu-led National Working Committee and other stakeholders to go for a true reconciliation among warring factions, as a way of improving the party’s chances in 2023 general elections.

The Vice President and Coordinator, Southwest Zone of the group, Olanrewaju Mosaku, said this in Abeokuta, Ogun State, during the inauguration of the zonal executive of the NYM.

According to him, only true reconciliation would unite the party and guarantee its victory in 2023. #

FG Directs all offices to close by 1 pm to support Eagles on Tuesday

The Federal Government has directed that all Offices within the Federal Capital Territory should close by 1 pm on Tuesday to ensure Civil Servants and all Government Workers are able to have enough time to go to the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.

The directive was contained in a circular from the office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Folashade Yemi-Esan, signed by the Permanent Secretary, Service Welfare Office, Dr Ngozi Onwudiwe.

Meanwhile, the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development and the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has purchased 20,000 tickets for Super Eagles fans to go to the Moshood Abiola National Stadium Abuja to support the Super Eagles in the Qatar 2022 World Cup PlayOff with the Black Stars of Ghana. #
