Buhari Approves Reconstitution Of NBC Board
The Media aide to the Minister of Information Segun Adeyemi says President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the reconstitution of the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) governing board following the expiration of the former board’s tenure,
The statement quoted the minister, Lai Mohammed, to have named Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa as Chairman and that the board will serve for three-year term. #

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has formally informed the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) of his intention to run for president in the 2023 general elections.
He made his interest known on Tuesday during a meeting with the PDP leaders in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.
Atiku, the presidential candidate of the main opposition party in the 2019 general elections, begged for another opportunity to represent the PDP in the coming poll. #
Bandits Kill DPO, Two Policemen, Four Vigilantes In Niger
Bandits on Tuesday attacked Nasko village in Magama Local Government Area of Niger State, killing the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Umar Mohammed Dakingari, two policemen, and four vigilantes.
A source said that the bandits were on a revenge mission after the recent attack on their hideouts and recovery of rustled cows.
The deceased DPO was having a meeting with his security team for another operation when the bandits suddenly surrounded the station and started shooting sporadically.
The Niger State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, who confirmed the incident, said the DPO, two other policemen, and four vigilante members lost their lives during the gun battle. #
Ukraine will not join NATO – Zelensky gives up
President Volodymyr Zelensky on Tuesday said Ukraine has accepted that it will not become a member of NATO.
Zelensky said it’s time for Ukraine to accept it wouldn’t join NATO.
The Ukrainian President said this during a call with the country’s military leaders on Tuesday.
The possibility of joining NATO, a US-led military alliance, was one of the reasons Russia launched an attack on Ukraine in February.
The Russian invasion has so far led to the largest refugee crisis in Europe since World War II with over three million scampering for safety including children. #
