BREAKING: ASUU Extends Warning Strike By Eight Weeks
The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has extended its warning strike by eight weeks, the union said on Monday.
ASUU reached the decision after its National Executive Council (NEC) meeting held at the national secretariat of the union.

Former Senate President, Bukola Saraki, said he is capable of leading Nigeria.
He said this during an interview with newsmen on Sunday while responding to questions regarding his interest in the 2023 Presidential election.

PDP Is Not Your Personal Property, Edo Cannot Be Procured – Obaseki Tells Wike
Governor Godwin Obaseki has said that the recent personal attacks by the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, against the Deputy Governor of Edo State, Philip Shaibu is totally uncalled for.
The Edo State Governor expressed his displeasure at the development in a statement on Monday.
Obaseki said if Wike was one who won’t show respect and courtesy to his colleague-governors, he would have ordinarily reached out to him to express his concerns about the views made by Comrade Shaibu, rather than embark on an unwarranted public onslaught.
The rift between Governor Wike and the Edo State deputy governor stemmed from a comment made by the latter suggesting that many supporters of Obaseki who defected with the governor from APC to the PDP are not happy and do not feel accepted into the new party.#
Russia-Ukraine War: 31 Evacuees From Romania Arrive In Nigeria
The seventh batch of Nigerian evacuees from Ukraine arrived Monday morning at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
They arrived aboard a Turkish airline and they were airlifted from Romania where they had fled following the war in Ukraine.
The evacuees numbering 31 arrived at 6:30 am and were received by officials of the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), and the Refugee Commission.
This is the second set of evacuees from Romania following the Russian invasion of Ukraine which has left many displaced. #
Second Ukraine Mayor Abducted By Russian Troops
A Ukraine mayor was abducted by invading Russian forces on Sunday, the second such kidnapping in days, bringing strong condemnation from the European Union.
the regional administration head Oleksandr Starukh said the Russian army captured the mayor of the city of Dniprorudne, in the Zaporizhzhia Oblast region of southeast Ukraine.
On Friday the mayor of southern Ukraine’s Melitopol was kidnapped by Russian soldiers occupying the city, because “he refused to cooperate with the enemy”, according to the Ukraine parliament. #
