Russian Invasion: Nigerians From Ukraine Granted Visa-Free Access To Romania, Hungary – FG

The Federal Government has said that Hungary and Romania have approved visa-free access to all Nigerians coming from Ukraine, and also have made arrangements for their accommodation and feeding before evacuation is arranged.

The Ministry of Foreign affairs disclosed this in a statement on Sunday, while advising Nigerians fleeing Ukraine to move to the Hungarian or Romanian borders for easy access.

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Gabriel Aduda, also noted that the government is fully aware of all the challenges being faced by Nigerians in Ukraine and is doing all it can to ease their pain. #

Niger Govt. Restrategises To Tackle Insecurity  

Niger State Government on Sunday said it is using kinetic and non-kinetic approaches in tackling insecurity bedevilling some parts of the state.

The state Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Internal Security, Emmanuel Umar, disclosed this in a statement.

He explained that the emergency security meeting was to review the state government’s security strategies and include the support of the communities to tackle the bandits. Umar said the government has mobilized security personnel after receiving credible intelligence that bandits were sighted approaching Mariga Local Government.

 

Strike: We Are Tired Of Govt’s Promises And Want Action – ASUU

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) maintains that it will not back down on its current industrial action, accusing the Federal Government of not keeping to its promises.

President of the union, Emmanuel Osodeke on monday told newsmen, ahead of their Tuesday meeting with the Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige.

According to him, for the past nine years, the federal government has been making promises, but once the strike is over, they relapse. He said the members are tired of these promises which they don’t fulfil. What they want is actions.

2023: S/East facing penalties of 2019 – Ohanaeze issues strong warning to Atiku, PDP

Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide has claimed that the current security challenges facing the South-East is as a result of Igbo loyalty to Atiku Abubakar in 2019.

The Igbo group warned the former Vice President and other politicians that any promotion of the northern continuation in power after 8 years of President Muhammadu Buhari would be seen as callous and selfish.

Ohanaeze reacted to Atiku’s recent boastful stance of winning the 2023 PDP Presidential ticket again, describing such belief as nostalgic.

The apex Igbo socio-cultural organization said that Atiku was only presenting himself as a desperate politician and is swimming against the political currents and tides of the moment.

Liverpool Beat Chelsea To Win League Cup

Liverpool won the League Cup final in dramatic way as Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga missed the decisive penalty to give the Reds an 11-10 shoot-out victory after a pulsating 0-0 draw at Wembley on Sunday.

Jurgen Klopp’s side clinched their first domestic knockout prize since the 2012 League Cup when Kepa blazed his spot-kick high over the bar.

The Reds have lifted the League Cup a record nine times, while Klopp is the first German manager to win the tournament after finally tasting Wembley success following two previous defeats as a boss there.
