Popular Nigerian artiste, Tiwa Savage, has revealed the inspiration behind her newly unveiled movie, “Water & Garri”.
Savage said she got the movie idea while she was drunk.
She stated this during the pre-launch press conference at the Livespot Entertainment Centre, Lagos, on Thursday.
The award-winning Afrobeat superstar Tiwa Savage said, “I said this before, this is an idea I had in my head when I was drunk in my room and when I brought the idea to my amazing team, they didn’t make me feel stupid. They actually just said this is a brilliant idea.”
On Friday, Prime Video debuted the film, starring Tiwa Savage.
The film was directed by Meji Alabi and produced by Everything Savage and Unbound Studios.
The movie was shot in Cape Coast, Ghana.
It tells the story of a young woman, Aisha, who returns home from the UK.
But the town she left behind is not the same town she’s come home to.
