We Are Ready To Pursue Justice in Ebonyi State – PDP Chairman
The Chairman People’s Democratic Party PDP, Ebonyi State, Okoroafor Tochukwu Okorie said the People’s Democratic Party is willing to go to the Supreme Court to pursue justice and recover their mandate in Ebonyi State.
Speaking on The Signature Show on Africa Independent Television, AIT on Sunday, the Chairman said governor David Umahi has defected the party and ought not to be a governor again, hinting that a total number of 16 lawmakers in Ebonyi who defected will face a similar issue with the governor and his deputy.
While responding to a question whether PDP is ready to meet Governor Umahi at the Appeal Court, he said PDP is committed to justice and the rule of law,
He said following due process, Governor Umahi should have vacated the seat of the governor as he left office in 2020, having defected and joined the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
According to the PDP Chairman, every Nigeria is subject to the law of the federal republic of Nigeria and as such governor, Umahi is subject to judicial pronouncement.
He urged the All Progressives Congress to take the part of honour and give up as the judgement is clear, and the basics of the battle is also clear.
