Yobe Govt Further Relaxes Curfew In Potiskum, Gashua, Nguru
After the security council meeting with heads of security agencies, the Yobe State Governor, Mai Buni has further relaxed the curfew in Potiskum, Gashua and Nguru towns following the nationwide protests that went violent.
According to a press statement by the Director General on Press and Media Affairs to the Governor, Mamman Mohammed, the curfew now starts from 6 pm to 6 am effective from Wednesday.
The meeting noted with dismay the sudden appearance of hoodlums and criminals who hid under the nationwide protest, to destroy and loot government and private properties in the affected local government councils.
It therefore cautioned parents and guardians to always monitor their wards and not to allow them to be used as agents of destruction and looting.
Governor Buni commended the security organisations for handling the situation maturely and professionally.
