14th Sunday: Finding Healing and Strength for the Mission through the Wounds of the Lord
In this homily, Fr Stan meditates on St Paul’s message on how the followers of Jesus bear the marks of Jesus on their bodies. Each and every one of us bears the marks of Jesus; the wounds of the Lord.
These are sometimes wounds of pain, but they are also marks of victory. The Lord invites us to become his companion in the mission of healing the world. But we stand before the world with nothing other than the marks we bear on our bodies for Christ through our self-sacrificing love for the Lord and for our brothers and sisters.
Our mission as followers must begin from these marks so that we can bring the fruits of the reign of God to the world through our commitment to peace, love, justice, compassion, mercy, and human and cosmic flourishing.
