Super Eagles defender Leon Balogun has sent a good luck message to the Super Falcons as they get set to face Botswana.

The Falcons will hope to get their 2022 WAFCON campaign back on track when they take on The Mares of Botswana on Thursday night.

It was not the best of starts for the Falcons who lost 2-1 to Banyana Banyana of South Africa in their Group C opener.

On their part, debutants Botswana defeated fellow debutants Burundi 4-2 to go top in the group.

And looking forward to the important game, Balogun also wished Asisat Oshoala a quick recovery from injury.

Oshoala got injured in the defeat against South Africa and has since been ruled out from the rest of the tournament.

Balogun wrote on Twitter:” Good luck to our @NGSuper_Falcons in tonight’s match against Botswana 🙌🏽🇳🇬.

“And I wish you a speedy recovery & a strong comeback my sister @AsisatOshoala 🙏🏽“

Meanwhile, South Africa will take on Burundi before the game between Nigeria and Botswana.

A win for the South Africans will guarantee qualification into the quarter-finals.

restore our confidence, and then we can take things from there,” Captain Onome Ebi said on Wednesday.

The Cup holders suffered a 1-2 defeat to South Africa’s Banyana Banyana in the opening match of Group C on Monday and now their work is cut out against table-toppers Botswana, who turned back Burundi 4-2 on Monday night.

Victory on Thursday will calm Nigerian nerves and allow the Super Falcons to look forward to Sunday’s encounter against Burundi with much confidence.
