Curtis Axel: WWE ends contract with wrestling star due to coronavirus crisis
Curtis Axel has been relieved of his job by WWE. The star has not been able to properly connect with the audience. WWE as a company is currently in huge financial crisis Curtis Axel is the latest person to be released by the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) company which is suffering from huge financial mess, due to the coronavirus crisis.
The son of Hall of Famer “Mr. Perfect” Curt Hennig, Axel captured the Intercontinental Championship in 2013 and was a two-time tag team champion. He made his debut in 2010 during the second season of NXT, but unfortunately, the 40-year-old could not connect with the audience in the same way his father did, which limited how high he climbed in WWE.
WWE has come to terms on the release of Curtis Axel.

At least 21 wrestling superstars were earlier released by the as the company enters into deep financial mess. The company on April 16 said that they were making cuts amid the coronavirus outbreak which has killed more than 234,000 across the globe.
On hearing the news, fans expressed shock and have thrown their weight of support on the entertainers who have been hit by the decision. Superstars including Kurt Angle and Drake Maverick were also affected and fans are worried about how they will be entertained while they stay at home during the lockdown. Despite the crisis, WWE is one of the sports that continue to operate, but the owners have now said that they are cutting off some of the stars.
Other ways to cut down cash flow was announced including reduction in salaries, cutting down on operational expenses, cutting talent expenses and a host of others. Former tag team champions Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows, former cruiserweight champion Lio Rush, former 24/7 champion Maverick, former Intercontinental champion Zack Ryder and former US champion Rusev were among stars that have been released. And now Curtis Axel has been affected at the coronavirus crisis continues to cripple world economy.
