MacArthur Foundation has been commended for its effort in supporting anti-corruption initiatives in the country.
The commendation was given in Kano by the Kano State Commissioner of Police, Shuaib Dikko, when Corruption Tori an anti-corruption Television programme supported by the MacArthur Foundation, celebrated
Sgt. Kabiru Isah, a road traffic policeman, who returned the sum of N1.3million belonging to a deceased accident victim.
Also at the event Insp. Garba Rabo and Jamilu Buhari attached to the Kano Consumer Protection Council were honoured for rejecting a N1 million bribe from owners of a warehouse containing expired goods.

The Police Commissioner said that the support given to Signature Communications LTD producers of Corruption Tori was yielding dividends as millions of Nigerians through the local languages programme were realizing the harm corruption was doing to Nigeria.
He praised Corruption Tori for identifing the officers and said that such recognition was a huge source of encouragement to the police force.
He also said the action of the officers has shown that truly ‘’the police is your friend” and increased the confidence in the Nigeria police by citizens of Kano state and Nigeria at large.
The Acting Managing Director of Kano State Consumer Protection Council, Babba Dan’Agundi who was also present at the ceremony said his organization also awarded the officers 1million naira because the Council wanted them to know that integrity and honest service have their reward.
He pledged his organization’s readiness to encourage honesty in service delivery.
The honoured officers expressed their appreciation on the recognition saying it will make them work even harder as such recognition has boosted their standing among their family members, friends and colleagues.
Corruption Tori will bring you the journey to honour for the three police officers in Corruption Tori Season 2 which begins in July.
