29 CONTRACTORS BLACKLISTED BY THE EBONYI STATE GOVERNMENT
The Ebonyi State government says it has barred 29 contractors from executing jobs in the state for poor execution of jobs given to them.
The State Commissioner for Information and State Orientation, Jude Okpor disclosed this while briefing reporters on the outcome of the State Executive Council meeting held in Abakaliki.
Mr Okpor said the banned contractors handled the ongoing housing estate in Izzo and Amaeze autonomous communities in Ishielu Local Government Area.
The council according to him considered the report on the performance of different contractors handling jobs in the ongoing estates for the resettlement of Izzo and Amaeze autonomous communities and approved the blacklisting of the 29 contractors for unsatisfactory performance.
On the communal crisis between the Effium and EzzaEffium communities in Ohaukwu Local Government Area, Okpor said the council had set up a peace committee to ensure restoration of peace in the area.
He explained that the committee would liaise with the earlier constituted implementation committee and concerned line ministries to actualise the Government White Paper on restoring permanent peace to the people.
