Vinmartin Obiora Ilo: Consumate Personality and Team Player
It was an exciting evening on Monday 30th January as friends and colleagues gathered at the Abuja residence of VinMartin Obiora Ilo to mark the birthday of a man who many have described as a consummate personality and team player.
The Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, the Director General of Nigerian Broadcasting Commission (NBC), Balarabe Ilelah, Senator Osita Izunaso and top government officials were among personalities who graced the occasion.
The Director General, Nigerian Broadcasting Commission (NBC) Balarabe Ilelah, said Ilo’s humility and accommodating spirit was exemplary adding that as a member of the NBC Governing Board, his dedication and commitment has remained unwavering.
In his remarks, Dr Peter Afunanya, the Spokesperson of Department of State Services (DSS) described Ilo as a team player and silent achiever who has impacted lives across the nation.
Also speaking at the event, the Director Public Affairs, Nigerian Broadcasting Commission (NBC) Gloria Makinde, wished Mr Ilo more longevity and a happy life.
Ambassador Kenny Okorie, a friend of the celebrator, said VinMartin is a hospitable character who does not discriminate, with friends from across the different tribes of the country.
The celebrator, Vinmartin Obiora Ilo thanked the guest who graced the occasion and appreciated God for good life.
He advise young journalists to always remain focused and play their roles effectively as any mistakes or inactions of a journalist could destroy the society.
Vinmartin Obiora Ilo, an Executive Fellow of the Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University, also has degrees in Mass Communications, International Relations and Development studies and is a veteran media personality whose career has transversed, radio, television, public relations and the new media.
Ilo hails from Adu-Achi in Enugu State and is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Signature TV.
