‘An Iroko has fallen’ – Gov Makinde mourns Adebanjo

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has joined other eminent personalities to mourn the death of Pa Ayo Adebanjo, a prominent leader of pan-Yoruba sociopolitical group, Afenifere.

But Makinde in his reaction, likened the death of Adebanjo, to the fall of a mighty Iroko tree in the forest.

The governor made these assertions via a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media, Sulaimon Olanrewaju.

The statement was made available to Newsmen on Friday.

Makinde in the statement, described Adebanjo’s death as the end of an era.

The governor commended Adebanjo for being a great nationalist, federalist, patriot and true democrat.

He said that Adebanjo gave his all for Nigeria to be a better country.
