Boniface, Aina, Iheanacho Return As Chelle Unveils Nigeria’s Provisional AFCON Squad

Victor Boniface, Ola Aina, and Kelechi Iheanacho were among notable returnees as Super Eagles Head Coach, Eric Chelle, unveiled Nigeria’s provisional squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). 

Aina was injured in Nigeria’s draw against South Africa in September during the World Cup qualifiers, while Boniface and Iheanacho have not been part of the team in recent matches.

The 2025 AFCON will commence later this month and will end in January, 2026.

Full list of Super Eagles’ provisional squad:

Goalkeepers: Maduka Okoye, Stanley Nwabali, Amas Obasogie, Francis Uzoho, Adebayo Adeleye, and Ebenezer Harcourt.

Defenders: William Ekong, Calvin Bassey, Zaidu Sanusi, Semi Ajayi, Ola Aina, Bright Osayi-Samuel, Bruno Onyemaechi, Igoh Ogbu, Chidozie Awaziem, Felix Agu, Ryan Alebiosu, Adeleke Adekunle and Emmanuel Michael.
