Ahead of the resumed hearing by the House Committee on the Niger Delta Commission over the alleged financial malfeasance, there is intense security beef up at the new building, House of Representatives, venue of the ongoing investigative hearing.

An unusual presence of policemen and National Assembly security operatives were noticed at room 231, new building before the commencement of the public hearing on Monday.

Guests already seated were asked to vacate the hall for proper security search.

The Minister for Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio, Acting Managing Director of NDDC, kemebradikumo pondei and a host of other stakeholders are expected to appear before the Committee.

It was however not immediately clear why the policemen were drafted to the venue.

Signaturetv.org correspondent covering the probe reported that invited guests and observers were being subjected to serious screening while those who supposedly have no business inside the hall were asked out by the security operatives.
