ASUU declares indefinite strike
The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, has declared an indefinite strike.
The President of the union, Professor Biodun Ogunyemi, disclosed this on Monday while addressing journalists in Abuja.
He said the strike action takes effect from March 23, 2020. The Union had on the 9th of this month declared a two-week warning strike which elapsed Monday 23rd March.
The Academic Staff Union of Universities had a series of consultations to arrive at an amicable resolution of the issues to no avail. The union had asked the government to revisit the 2009 agreement the Federal government entered into with it, with a view to implementing them.
