Bandits kill Kaduna train hostage 72 hours after he regained freedom
A victim of the March Abuja-Kaduna train attack who was among those freed last week, have been killed by bandits.
According to sources, the victim whose name was not disclosed was killed Saturday, barely 72 hours after he regained freedom. The incident happened along the Funtua-Gusau road en route his home town in Kebbi State.
The victim had spent over six months in terrorist captivity following attack on Abuja-Kaduna bound train on March 28, 2022. He was killed while travelling alongside his relatives who were reunited with him by authorities in Kaduna State after being rescued last week.
It was gathered that one of the relatives driving the vehicle was also abducted by the terrorists to an unknown destination.
He was said to have been shot on his head by gunmen who laid ambush on the ever-busy Funtua – Gusau road and died a few hours after he was rushed to Tsafe General Hospital, along same highway.
