Bandits Kill Over 20 Persons, Destroy Properties In Fresh Attack On Kaduna Villages

More than 20 people have been killed following a fresh attack by bandits in Kaduna State.

The bandits are said to have attacked some villages within the Giwa Local Government Area of the state.

Sources reveal that the marauders invaded the villages between Saturday and Sunday morning, shooting sporadically.

Several villagers were left hurt in the wake of the assaults.

Speaking on the development, the Kaduna State Commissioner for internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan lists the villages to include Kauran Fawa, Marke, and Riheya.

Aruwan said during the attacks, the bandits also burnt several houses, trucks, and cars along with agricultural produce at various farms.

He, however, said that security operatives have been deployed to sustain patrols in the general area.

The State Governor Nasir El-Rufai on his part expressed sadness over the attack and directed the Kaduna State Emergency Management Agency to conduct an urgent assessment of the area towards providing relief to the victims.

  • If the insecurity situation in Kaduna was taking place without Rufai as governor, it would be interesting to hear what he would say.
