Buhari Receives Tinubu At Presidential Villa After Juma’at Prayers

President Muhammadu Buhari has received the President-elect, Bola Tinubu, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The outgoing and incoming presidents prayed together at the Presidential Mosque on Friday, after which the President-elect departed without speaking to the media.

Tinubu was accompanied by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, and his retinue of personal and security aides.

The prayer session was led by the Chief Imam of the State House Mosque, Ustadh Abdul-Wahid Suleiman, who led the two rakaat units of prayers.

Muslim faithful in attendance includes the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, Majority Leader of the House of Representatives, Alhassan Doguwa and National Security Adviser, retired Maj-Gen. Babagana Monguno.

Tinubu’s visit to Buhari comes less than 24 hours after the President argued the opposition’s defeat in the February 25 presidential election was a result of “overconfidence”.

He added that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), on the other hand, blended confidence with caution, saying, “We worked hard and won.”
