CDD Launches Plan To Strengthen Democracy in Africa – Watch Video
The Center for Democracy and Development, CDD West Africa, on Tuesday launched a five years Strategic Plan to strengthen democracy, foster accountability and resolve regional crisis in Africa.
Members of civil society organisations, government agencies and the private sector witnessed the launch in Abuja on Tuesday.
There is surely a crisis of confidence in democratic governance in Africa, especially in West Africa with the military providing alternative governance narrative.
At the launch of the strategic plan in Abuja, organizers told the participants that despite the ongoing crisis ,, the plan will provide alternatives best for sustaining good governance and development in the region.
Despite the democratic imbalance in Africa, and ongoing coup in some sahel states, how can the West Africa regional body, ECOWAS, resolve governance issues in the region?
The organizers stated the essence of the strategic plan that will run for five years.
The Centre for Democracy and Development (CDD) is a non-profit organization with headquarters in Abuja, Nigeria. It aims to promote the values of democracy, peace and human rights , particularly in the West African sub-region.
