The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai, has urged golfers in Nigeria to groom young players who can compete favorably across the globe.

General Buratai made the call when he received a delegation from the Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida, IBB International Golf and country club, Abuja.

”Time is ripe for seasoned golfers like you to embark on talent hunt and groom younger generation of golfers that can beat the likes of Tiger woods”.

The Chief of Army Staff who applauded the cordial relationship between the army and the IBB golf and country club promised to encourage the officers and men of the army to take up permanent membership of the club.

He called for the reduction of the cost of registration and membership of the club to enable potential young men and women who are not very buoyant financially to join the club.

Earlier, the Vice-Captain of the club, Senator Emmanuel Anosike, who led the delegation applauded the Chief of Army Staff for the military’s efforts in fighting insurgency and terror in the country.
