Corona Virus: Alumni donates PPE to University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital Enugu

The Students of University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital Alumni (SONUNTH USA) through her Nigeria Chapter, has scaled up its ongoing support to ensure safety of health workers in the face of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic with the donation of personal protective equipment to the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital, Enugu

Representatives of SONUNTH delivered the equipment and supplies on Monday, June 22, 2020.

It includes reuseable face shields, facemasks, information, education and communication guides on the use of the PPE.

During the handover, Dr. Pat. Ukaigwe, Head of SONUNTH USA via a Zoom meeting said “260 face shields was being made available for the Nurses to help in the fight against COVID-19 which is rampant and a deadly infection in the USA and Nigeria ”

Christle Onyejekwe President SONUNTH Alumni Nigeria, while thanking the Chief Medical Director (CMD) for the audience, emphasized that SONUNTH is committed to ensuring the protection of health care workers.

Receiving the supplies, the CMD, Dr. Obinna Onodugo expressed appreciation for the timely donation of the PPEs from SONUNTH USA commending them for their timely and thoughtful intervention.

Present at the ceremony were the Head of Nursing services UNTH, Mrs Chinwe Achukwu,
Mrs. Ijeoma Ilo, Orji-Okafor Cheta and other members of SONUNTH Nigeria Chapter.
