Covid-19: Gov. Badaru pardons 74 inmates in Jigawa

Jigawa State Governor Alhaji Muhammad Badaru Abubakar has pardoned seventy-four inmates of the state prison to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

This is coming after President Muhammad Badaru flagged-off the 2020 presidential pardon and clemency program to fast track the decongestion of prisons over the fear of COVID-19 spread in the country.

Badaru explained that inmates released are those with minor offences and people with insignificant fines.
