The director-general of the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), Dr. Chikwe Ihekweazu, has called for more tests on patients with symptoms of coronavirus in the south- east region, due to the low number recorded.
There are three reported cases in Enugu and one in Anambra, while none has been recorded in Abia, Ebonyi and Imo States.
Ihekweazu made the call on Saturday during his visit to inspect facilities on ground for the containment of coronavirus in Owerri, Imo State, and was received by Governor Hope Uzodinma.
He commended Governor Hope Uzodimma, for being proactive and dutiful in the fight against the spread of COVID-19 in the state, and promised that the agency would have longer engagements with the state government after the COVID-19 battle
