Covid 19: Negative Impact on Small Businesses in Nigeria

The Statistician-General of the Federation, National Bureau of statistics, Dr Harry Simon, has announced that Covid 19 Pandemic adversely affected Business enterprises in Nigeria, especially small businesses.

He made this disclosure in Abuja while unveiling the report of a survey carried out by the bureau on the Impact of Covid 19 on Small Businesses enterprises in Nigeria.

He stated that the survey was carried out with the partnership of the United Nations Development Programme and explained that the survey was to understand the impact of the pandemic on the output, operation and finances of businesses in Nigeria.

A Senior Economist of the United Nation’s Development Programme, Dr Amarakoon Bandar, gave statistics of businesses affected due to the pandemic and said that the report reviews the findings of the survey that was taken to see the impact of covid 19 in small businesses, which were more negative than positive.
