Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State has directed the immediate construction of the over 55kilometer Iziogo, Igweledoha, Ndiokeda, and Onuenyim Roads in the Izzi LGA, of the State.
Governor Nwifuru gave the directive on Saturday during the child naming ceremony of his namesake, little Master Francis Nwifuru jnr, son, of the All Progressives Congress, APC Secretary in the state, Charles Ofoke, in Ndiokeda, in Izzi LGA.
The Governor described the celebrant, Ofoke as a man who played a role in the political journey of his administration and thanked him for the sacrifices made.
According to him, Charles has been with them for a long time and that was why at God’s appointment, he was remembered.
The State Chief Executive lauded the Ndiokeda community for their steadfastness and support for the APC.
While informing guests at the ceremony what informed his decision to immortalise the Governor, Ofoke expressed gratitude to Governor Nwifuru on whose shoulder he rose to socio -economic visibility.
He said that after remembering all that the governor did for him, he decided that the name “Francis” will never depart from the family saying that was why he named his son after him.
The event was graced by top government functionaries including, the Deputy Governor, Princess Patricia Obila, Speaker of Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Moses Ije Odunwa among others
