EGYPTIAN AMBASSADOR COMMENDS NIGERIAN ARMY ON MILITARY CIVIL RELATIONSHIP.

The Ambassador of Arab Republic of Egypt in Nigeria, Mr Assem Elseify has commended the Nigerian Army for maintaining excellent civil military relationship with the not only Nigerians but with foreigners in the country .

Mr Elseify made this remarks today Thursday during a courtesy call on the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General TY Buratai at the Army Headquarters Abuja.
The Ambassador said he was at the Army Headquarters to seek for synergy and partnership between the Eyptain Army and the Nigerian Army. “The Egyptian Army will always be available to partner with the Nigerian Army especially in the area of training and capacity building” he said.

He urged the Nigerian Army to sustain and build on the already established excellent civil-military relationships saying that “Your civil-military relationship is second to non and is of international standard. I urge you to sustain the tempo. We will continue to support your Army through technical assistance, training and capacity building towards checkmating the myriad security challenges confronting Nigerian nation”.

The COAS in his response thanked the visiting Ambassador for the visit and described as a seasoned diplomat that have served the Egyptian Government and people in many capacities.

He said the diplomatic and military relationship between the two countries has a chequered history dating back to 1960 and appealed for technical assistance towards the ongoing campaign against insurgents in Nigeria.
