Enugu 2023: Three PDP Aspirants Withdraw From Guber Race

Ahead of the governorship primary election slated for Wednesday in Enugu State, three frontline gubernatorial aspirants of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) have withdrawn from the race.

The three aspirants made their withdrawal known in a letter issued separately and submitted to the leadership of the party a few hours before the governorship primary election.

Ekweremadu’s letter of withdrawal was signed by Hon. Charles Asogwa, the Director-General, Ikeoha Campaign Organisation.

 
He said, “We wish to inform our supporters and Nigerians that the former Deputy President of the Senate and foremost governorship aspirant in Enugu State, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, will not be participating in the PDP governorship primary election scheduled for this Wednesday, May 25, 2022.”

correspondingly, Captain Everest Nnaji and Joseph Onoh have also announced their withdrawal from the race in a letter dated May 25.

Onoh announced that he was not backing Mr Peter Mba who he said is Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi’s choice.
