Enugu Is Safe For Investment, Says CP
The Enugu State Police Commissioner, Kanayo Uzuegbu , has encouraged investors that the state is highly safe for business and investments.
The Commissioner said this on Tuesday, September 27, during a press briefing and parade of over 90 suspects and recovered exhibits in the command headquarters Enugu.
He said that the press briefing and parade of criminal suspects and exhibits is an avenue for him to showcase some of the operational achievements of the Enugu State Police Command which is the first since he assumed duty as the Commissioner of Police of the Command on August 16, 2023.

He said there is no doubt that the task of effectively policing the State is daily becoming daunting, adding that he has since his assumption of duty ensured that the right policing strategies are devised to tackle existing and emerging security challenges in the State.
He maintained that he has met and interacted with critical security stakeholders, including local government chairmen, traditional rulers, heads of other security agencies and many others, on the best ways to collectively tackle security challenges in the State. These engagements, he added, show the command is making remarkable progress in tackling violent crimes of kidnapping, armed robbery and the criminal activities of subversive criminals.
The CP said that it is a known fact that it is humanly impossible to totally eliminate crimes in human society. However, he assured the good people of Enugu State and visitors that the Police remain committed to ensuring that maximum security and tranquility are maintained in the State.
He stated that negative insinuations on the security situations in Enugu State are false and unfounded, adding that it amounts to making mountains out of a molehill. He, therefore, said that the State remains peaceful and a safe haven for visitors and investors to come and meaningfully carry out their lawful businesses.
He therefore, called on those who may be contemplating becoming criminals to do away with such thoughts, while those who have made committing crimes their stock in trade, were warned to repent of their own volition, as the Police shall deal ruthlessly with unrepentant criminal elements operating under any guise in the State.

He Consequently called on parents, traditional and religious rulers, and leaders of thoughts in the State to re-orientate and warn their children and subjects to always be of good behavior. This is because any action and activities inimical to the peace and order in the State by them; shall be met with appropriate policing actions in accordance with extant laws of the land.
The Commissioner expressed his sincere gratitude to the Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mba, for the support and encouragement he has been giving to the command. He recalled that he recently received and flagged off the Distress Response Squad (DRS), which is one of the Governor’s key operational supports to the Police, to promptly respond to and tackle crimes in the State, adding that this is in addition to several efforts the Governor has been making to ensure that general crime management in the State is seamlessly achieved.
He thanked the Inspector-General of Police for his support and guidance, which have made the command’s operational activities and the overall policing of the State less cumbersome.
To his colleagues and heads of other security agencies of the command, he appreciated them for their continued collaborative support. In the same vein, he also thanked the security stakeholders and law-abiding citizens of the State for all the support and assistance.
