Enugu primary school teachers, LG, parastatal workers not earning minimum wage yet

The Enugu State Government has commenced the full implementation of the minimum wage to all levels of civil servants except parastatal workers, local government employees, and primary school teachers.

The Chairman of the state Joint Public Service Negotiating Council, Chukwuma Igbokwe, told one of our correspondents on the telephone that primary school teachers and local government workers were not being paid the minimum wage yet.

Igbokwe stated, “Employees of parastatals in Enugu State have not started receiving minimum wage payment.

“Also, the primary school teachers and local government employees have not been paid the minimum wage.”
