Chiamaka Madu’s lone goal made the difference as Enugu Rangers FC defeated Kwara United in a Match Day 11 fixture in the ongoing Nigeria Professional Football League [NPFL] in Enugu.
The match which was played on Sunday, 21st February 2021 at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu, recorded only one goal after the first goal scored by Rangers’ player, Christian Nnaji was ruled offside by the Assistant referee at the 18th-minute of the game.
Chiamaka Madu gave the Flying Antelopes the lead and only goal of the encounter through a header in the 30th-minute and just before the interval, the Afonja Warriors nearly equalized but Stephen Jude’s long-range effort hit the crossbar.
With this win, Rangers FC has gone up to the fourth position on the log.
The Harmony Boys continue to search for their first away win against the Enugu side in the league.
Rangers FC will at the mid-week travel to Bauchi state to face Wikki Tourists of Bauchi in a Match Day 12 fixture.
The weekend fixture of Wikki Tourists of Bauchi was postponed by the League Management due to the auto crash that the Bauchi side was involved on their way to Uyo to trade tackle Dakkada FC.
The Honourable Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Enugu State, Hon. Manfred Nzekwe who was at the stadium to watch the match was overwhelmed with joy, as Flying Antelopes continue to make the Government and people of Enugu State proud.
It could be recalled that Rangers FC of Enugu lost 1 – 0 to Abia Warriors away in an Oriental Derby at Okigwe Township Stadium in a Match Day 10 fixture.
