It appears the Enugu state government is walking the talk.
On Friday it began making good it’s resolve to return Enugu City to one of Nigeria’s best planned metropolitan areas.
The Enugu Capital territory Development Authority demolished parts of one of the city’s high brow restaurants, Breathe Restaurant & Lounge located in the upper class area of Independence Layout.
The authority cited construction of structures outside of the approved plan and purpose among other infractions.
The agency said in accordance with the documents signed by the developer, it had the responsibility to demolish parts of the restaurant which fell outside of the structures and purpose which the developer signed when it sought approval.
Last week, the Enugu Capital territory Development Authority had warned that there was a proliferation of fake documents, forged building plan approvals, manipulation of permits which distorted the city’s development plans and posed danger to safety of users and residents.
Many more developers will likely be affected as the agency makes good it’s resolve to bring Enugu City to its status as the beauty on the hills.
