Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, has said his team were back to their old selves, after they thrashed Ipswich Town 6-0 in the Premier League on Sunday.

The win moves the champions into the top four on the table.

Phil Foden scored his second brace of the week and set up another goal, Erling Haaland also got on the scoresheet.

City now has 38 points in a much-needed win that moved them up to fourth on 38 points.

“We are really pleased, we are back to doing things that defined this team for the last 10 years.

“Really pleased for the three points and to climb into qualification for the Champions League for next season,” Guardiola told Sky Sports after the match.

After some less-than-convincing performances during the festive season, Guardiola impressed with how his side played at Portman Road..

“Much better, maybe not our best, but closer with the consistency we have in our game.

“Everyone with the ball was clever, quicker, faster, everyone is related.

“You cannot be quick, wise and good if you are not connected defensively,” Guardiola said.
