FCT COUNCIL ELECTION: VOTING GOING SMOOTHLY
▪︎Police assure residents of safe and peaceful exercise
Mpape residents joined thousands of voters in the FCT in trooping out enmasse to participate in council polls which will elect council leaders that will pilot local government affairs within the 6 councils in the Federal Capital Territory
In Mpape the election is taking place at LEA Mpape Primary School.
Though the voting was slated to start at 8am Saturday, the election materials meant for Mpape did not arrive until 10:42 am and voting started at 11:20am
Signature TV correspondent Marvellous Obomanu reports that there was heavy presence of security personnel to ensure that the election was peaceful and successful.
According to him party agents were also on ground at the election venue and voting went on smoothly as security and INEC officials were on hand to ensure law and order prevailed
Mpape a suburb of the Federal Capital Territory is under Bwari Area council, one of the six councils in the nations capital city.

Nasiru Usman also reports that voting started exactly at 9:48 am with voters coming out in their numbers to excercise their franchise.
He quoted the Federal Capital Territory, Deputy Commisioner of Police, Bennett Igweh, as saying the police was ready to monitor the election and ensure that it was peaceful.
He said the Deputy Commissioner assured that police authorities had deployed officers and men across the Territory to enure eligible voters exercised their civic duties without hindrance in a conducive environment.
He said that while briefing newsmen earlier, the INEC Director, Voters Education and Publicity, Victor Aluko said the FCT election will be free and fair, adding that every vote will count.
Voting will end at 3pm
