The federal lawmaker representing Gummi/Bukkuyum federal constituency  in Zamfara state House of Representatives,  Suleiman Abubakar Gumi, has said that the notorious bandits leader, Bello Turji, who controlled over 150 groups in the north, has fled to a forest in Kwara state.
Gumi said that Turji’s location remains unconfirmed and it’s a sign that the military has dislodged him from a his stronghold in the Shinkafi Local Government Area of Zamfara state.
He added that whenever bandits evade a community, they would spare the girls and kill every male child in the community, stating  that one life lost is like killing the whole of humanity.
Killing of tens of people is a cause of concern and it’s a worrisome development that after a long silence of reduced number of killings, it suddenly escalated again, he said.
The lawmaker stated that, they lost about 56 souls in one community attack and properties were lost as well when the rate of poverty is expanding, still a lot is being lost.
He added that Bukkuyum is a notorious village and not everyone can invade there but when they got the opportunity they raided the community and killed every male child, sparing the female.
He concluded by saying that he had seen what happened in Shinkafi, and he believe it’s a stronghold of 150 groups being led by Turji, who’s now on the run in a forest in Kwara and location yet unconfirmed, promising that the military would go after them in air raid.
