FG Charges Al-Muhibbah Varsity On Innovative Solutions
The Minister of education, Prof. Tahir Mamman has tasked Al-Muhibbah Open University kubwa, Abuja to be innovative in their programmes in other to provide solutions to the present and future needs of the society.
Mamman spoke Friday in Abuja at the unveiling and maiden matriculation of the university.
At the event, 105 students across three faculties and 14 programmes were matriculated.


Mamman urged the institution not to go into running routine programmes but should ensure that digitalization and IT are in the forefront of what they do.
The Minister said owing to the large pool of students searching for university education, there was a need to open up the system for private education to meet the yearnings of the youths.

In his remarks, the acting Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission (NUC) Chris Maiyaki, said the transformative impact of education was undeniable as it transcends boundaries that ignite the social economy.
Wife of Bauchi state governor founder and Chancellor of the university, Dr Aisha Bala Muhammad, said the institution’s objective is to create opportunity for women and the less privileged to access higher education.
She noted that the university had zero tolerance for any form of crime and indiscipline, and advised the students to abide by the rules and regulations guiding activities in the institution.
She said students need a mixture of hard and soft skills to adapt to the future of work especially women and the vulnerable youth.

The Governor of Bauchi State, Bala Muhammad commended his wife’s resilience in establishing the university, saying she’s the best in dreaming and actualizing the dreams.
