FG Supports Summit On Youth Security
The federal government has thrown it’s weight behind a summit on securing the security of Nigerian youths, women and children.
The minister of Youth Development Comrade Ayodele Olawande, made the commitment in Abuja when a delegation from the Not Too Young To Perform paid him a courtesy visit.
The leadership of the group told the minister of a proposed summit which comes up in October to address the risks that insecurity now exposes the Nigerian youths to.
Comrade James Eczema who led the delegation provided more insight into the purpose and reasons for the summit.
The Minister said the ministry will work together with the Not Too Young To Perform for success of the summit and the implementation of the proposed national youth safety initiative.
The minister, who praised the initiative of the group said the proposal aligns with the Ministry’s broader youth development agenda and its efforts to ensure synergy with existing government programmes on youth and security.
The courtesy visit concluded on a note of optimism, with both parties expressing a firm commitment to work together in safeguarding the lives and future of young Nigerians.
